2011 Word from the Pastor
We are in the eighth decade of ministry here at Greater Cornerstone Church. I am delighted as I witness those in active membership preparing themselves and taking lead as an integral part of this life-changing, life-giving, and life-preserving ministry. Our presence reaching out into the community is changing the atmosphere and preparing the way for the Lord to touch and transform lives. This is possible because the leadership at Greater Cornerstone Church has a vision and a purpose that transcends themselves and reaches out into the community, knowing that with God all things are possible.
The Greater Cornerstone Community Development Project (GCCDP) was birthed out of Greater Cornerstone Church, embraced and supported by the Tulsa community and is well on its way. It has been my absolute pleasure witnessing the vision becoming a reality as the foundation was being laid and the beams have been erected and set in place and the center progresses in its development. With great anticipation and excitement, we are literally seeing with our own eyes, the form of the center developing. I look forward to the day I can look at it and say, "It is finished." However, in all actuality the finishing of the building is only the beginning of the ministry that God has ordained to take place within its walls and outside in the community.
Opportunity to meet the needs of the Westside community requires everyone to embrace and develop the gifts and talents God has placed within them. I recently preached a sermon series titled, "Don't Hide It, Multiply It !" If we hide our gifts and talents then they are good for nothing and are buried when we are buried. However, I am challenging the members of Greater Cornerstone Church to embrace and develop their gifts and talents so they will be multiplied and bring God glory.
"Don't hide it, multiply it!" as we continue pursuing the glory, taking authority and walking in the overflow.
Blessings,
Reverand Willard L. Jones; Senior Pastor
